News

[ 2018/08/15 ] Now mirroring Ubuntu Bionic Beaver.

[ 2016/08/16 ] Welcome to our new mirror server.

[ 2016/06/04 ] Debian jessie-backports has been added. This is the backports part of the currently stable distribution.

[ 2014/05/07 ] deb-multimedia squeeze has been dropped. The jessie packages have now been added. We are mirroring wheezy, jessie and sid (stable, testing and unstable).

[ 2014/03/31 ] Debian squeeze has been dropped. This mirror now distributes current stable (wheezy) and testing (jessie).

[ 2013/05/10 ] Debian wheezy has been promoted to stable. This mirror distributes squeeze (oldstable), wheezy (stable) and jessie (testing). Backports have been merged into debian proper.

[ 2012/04/10 ] Debian wheezy has been added. This is the testing distribution of Debian.

[ 2012/04/03 ] Debian leny has been dropped. As upstream mirrors no longer carry Debian 5.0 ("lenny") we have dropped it on this mirror. This specifically affects the debian-backports and the regular debian mirror. Please let us know if there is a need for "wheezy" (currently testing).

[ 2011/11/21 ] Due to limited demand and high space requirements, we are no longer mirroring Fedora. With the freed space, we will be providing ubuntu source code as well as ubuntu universe and multiverse.

[ 2011/02/11 ] Debian squeeze is now stable! lenny is oldstable. Anyone still specifying "stable" in their sources.list files will be surpised!
As well, we are downloading squeeze-proposed-updates. This can be included in sources.list files if desireable.

[ 2010/20/10 ] Debian-volatile has been added as a separate repository. It is recommended that the two lines for debian are added together in the /etc/apt/sources.list file.

About this mirror

This mirror site is maintained for the benefit of the students and staff of McGill university. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer this mirror to the larger Free software community at this time (though we really wish that we could!).

If there is any software that you think that we are missing, that you would like to see mirrored here, please shoot me an email.
